Making it Your Own

1. How did you personalize your Book of Shadows For the moment I am just using different color pens for different sections of my book. In the future I will add pictures and other ideas I have rolling around in my head. I guess I just need to see where it all goes as I work with it. 2. Why did you choose to do what you did? For the moment, that is what I have available. As I continue my work, I have some other ideas to make it mine. I know that I will be adding pictures and photos of different things. 3. Include a Photo of your B0S in your Student Blog.

What is Witchcraft

What is Witchcraft? Witchcraft is part of many pagan religions, but is not considered a religion itself. Witchcraft has been around for centuries. It started by information on healing and rituals that are passed down through the family, usually the women in the family. Many Pagan paths use witchcraft to help accomplish what the person is out to accomplish. Until the witch trials started, there were still many people who followed the old ways but most did so in secret because of the fear being broadcast by Christianity. This is why the Book of Shadows should be highly guarded. During the witch trials, there were many women who were accused and executed for being a witch. Even if the accusations were not true, the person was arrested and put on trial. Most often, it seems, that they were also found guilty and put to death or put in prison for years because someone accused them of being a witch. Since that time, witchcraft is becoming more popular but is still ostracized in many areas and

Preparations Research

1. Decoction The herbal decoction is made using the bark, seeds, and root of the herb. Because these harder parts of the herb are used, it must simmer rather than steep for at least 10 minutes. To make a decoction the first thing to do is decide why you are making it so you can decide what herb or herbs to use. Place the herb in the bottom of a pan and add the solvent. Usually for a dried herb one would use about two teaspoons to every pint of solvent and for fresh herbs one would use two tablespoons of the herb to every pint of solvent. This would be simmered on the stove for at least 10 minutes but could be longer. Once the time is up, you would strain the herb out with a sieve the add enough fresh water so that you again have 1 pint. This can be stored for up to 3 days in a air tight container in the refrigerator. Paganism has been also called the Old Religion as it was the religion before Christianity and other religions. It has been made to seem a bad thing, but it really is not. Most Pagans do not believe in judgment of others as some religions seem to today. Paganism is a religion that follows nature and the seasons. Mother Earth is to be cared for and respected by those that inhabit her. The nice thing about Paganism, is that there is no one way that is right or wrong. One does what seems right to him or her and leaves what does not feel right on the sideline. Some commune with several Gods and/or Goddesses while other only one. It all depends on the person and what he or she feels is the correct for him or her. Each person follows the path that is right for them. No one can tell you what is right or wrong except for you. Paganism began as a spirituality practiced by a tribe or a town or just a gro
